1st edition of Start Up contest Guinea

To discover, support and promote the best entrepreneurs in Guinea, the Bluezone of Kaloum hosted from 12 to 14 June 2015, the first edition of Start Up contest Guinea, under the sign of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation.

The Start Up contest Guinea was structured around three main phases that allowed each promoter to demonstrate the feasibility and viability of their Start Up to a jury of professionals.

At the first stage, candidates have had to defend before the jury their projects in one minute according to the concept “pitch & fire”. It was an opportunity for them to explain the summary of their projects. At the end of this phase, 15 project leaders were selected out of the 38 previously shortlisted to form temporary teams to work on a detailed business model.

The 15 teams then prepared their business model with the support of a dozen experienced mentors. To support the implementation of the business model, the experts had the opportunity to make short presentations before the 15 project holders who had the occasion to defend in turn, for 5 minutes each, their business model to an audience of professionals.

Selected by the jury, the best three, having presented the most compelling business model of the competition each won a prize according to their ranking, a 6 months mentoring each and access for one year to the incubator of the Bluezone of Kaloum.

Thus, the first prize of 3,000 euros returned to Barry Youssouf with his project Bananeraie Wewe. Diallo Mamadou Saidou of Artex Guinea project received the 2nd prize worth 2,000 euros and the project Bout’chou Ms. Fatoumata Béavogui Genevieve won the 3rd prize of 1,000 euros. Congratulations to the lucky winners that will receive support during the starting phase of their project.
